AoV WORLD TITLE HISTORY
1/5/03 - AoV kicked
in the New Year with 10 members brutally battling for the opportunity
to wrest the World Title from Richard Smoke's grasp.
In the first round, Pauly's Goldust took out Shine's Test
in turn 30 with a Running Neckbreaker. In a battle of 1E Angles, ICRWA
triumphed over Brujah in turn 35 with a Corner Squash. S2J's Lance Storm
overcame Med's Bradshaw in turn 36 with Storm's Thrust Kick. Violent Al's
Brock beat down eXtreme Violence's Big Show with a turn 22 Piledriver.
And M-Dogg's X8 Hulk Hogan and The Aussie Assassin's 2E Rock fought to
a bitter draw.
In the second round, S2J's Lance Storm defeated Pauly's
Goldust in turn 32 with Storm's Thrust Kick. And Al's Brock took out ICRWA's
Angle with a turn 37 Chokeslam.
In the finals, Violent Al stood tall over S2J as his Brock
defeated Lance Storm on turn 50 with an AC pin.
So Violent Al came through the gauntlet and earned the
tite shot against Richard Smoke. For the match, Al selected Booker T and
Smoke selected Trish Stratus. In the end, though, Richard Smoke proved
himself to be a most resilient champ as his Trish planted a Thrust Kick
on Booker's jaw for the 1-2-3 pin.
Congrats to Richard Smoke on his successful title defense!
11/3/02 - After
a brief delay, the AoV Title scene kicked back off with a bang as 9 hungry
members of AoV fought for the right to dethrone Richard Smoke as the AoV
World Champ!
In the first round, Duncan MacLeod's RVD fell victim to
ICRWA's Rey Mysterio and his West Coast Pop in turn 27. Shaggy 2 Dope
was no match for The Twisted Turtle's Kurt Angle as he went down to a
Belly-to-Belly Suplex on turn 26. Cipher Dragon's Brock Lesnar put down
K2J's Al Snow with a turn 26 F5. And Medallion, running with of all things
an unreggie's Rock deck, took out Shine's Brock with a turn 20 Punch.
Gamer had a bye.
In Round 2, The Twisted Turtle took out ICRWA with a turn
32 Angle Slam. Cipher Dragon took out Gamer with a turn 31 F5. Medallion
had the bye.
In Round 3, Medallion took out Turtle with his unreggie
Rock deck, with an A/C pin on turn 29. Cipher Dragon had the bye.
Medallion showed a lot of skill and heart making it to
the finals with an unreggie Rock deck, but it just wasn't enough to take
him all the way, as Cipher Dragon beat him on turn 42 with an Inside Cradle.
So it was down to this: Cipher Dragon and his Brock Lesnar
vs. Richard Smoke and his X-Pac for all the marbles. It was an exciting
match, and you can view the Play-by-Play here.
In the end, though, Richard showed why he was the champ as he defeated
Cipher with a turn 50 Shooting Star Press.
So Richard Smoke retains the AoV World title! Congrats
to Richard, and we'll be back next month to see if he can make it 3 months
in a row as champ!
9/15/02 - It was
a battle for the gold, as the members of AoV convened at the first AoV
PPV, Sunday
Bloody Sunday, to pummel each other in a desperate gamble
to become the first AoV World Champion!
In the first round, ICRWA's Brock was triumphant over
Stampone's 1E Angle with a Full Nelson Slam in turn 18. Hardkore Holly's
2E Big Show got smacked by Dude's Brock with a turn 20 Power Bomb. AleXander
Bhatia's 1E HHH proved definitively that chivalry is indeed dead as he
pummeled The Twisted Turtle's 1E Lita with a turn 43 Clothesline. And
Richard Smoke's 2E Y2J sped by The Gamer's 1E Angle in turn 32 after OTOing
The Gamer.
Unfortunately, Dude never showed for the semis, giving
Richard Smoke a bye to the finals. His opponent would be none other than
ICRWA, whose Brock was able to outplay AleX's HHH with a turn 31 Pump
Handle.
So it came down to this: ICRWA's Brock Lesnar versus Richard
Smoke's 2E Y2J. In the end, Brock may be the Next Big Thing, but Y2J is
definately King of the World, as Richard Smoke dominated ICRWA with a
turn 22 Elbow for the victory to become AoV's first World Champion! Congrats
to Dick, and let's see if he can hold on to the belt at the next PPV!
