1/11/03 - The Red Sox, AKA Alliance of Violence, shocked the world by going through WFC and SBD to win the first season EFL Championship! Congrats and shout outs go to Violent Al, Richard Smoke, S2J, and our MVP, The Aussie Assassin, for bringing glory to AoV's name.

11/7/02 - After a short hiatus, the AoV Belt Tourney scene is back up and running. First off, congrats to Richard Smoke for successfully defending his AoV World Title against Cipher Dragon. Second, the belt tourney schedule has changed. The tourneys will be held every Saturday on a rotating basis. This week's title tourney will be for the Hardcore title. Check the title pages for the next scheduled events.

Also announced at this weekend's PPV was the formation of the AoV Executive Committee, comprised of M-Dogg, Michaelangelo, Ky0fu, Medallion, and Richard Smoke. This committee will be responsible for evaluating prospective new members as well as taking up any possible disciplinary actions required for any current members.

And finally, Fuzzy Muff has announced that he is leaving WA! to pursue other opportunities. He is currently involved in the start-up of a new ISP. For those who weren't aware, Fuzzy Muff, along with M-Dogg, helped to create AoV. He's been a great member and will be sorely missed.

9/17/02 - A situation arose last night that, quite frankly, Dogg and I hadn't thought about. At the Cruiser Tourney last night, Richard Smoke, Stampone, and The Gamer were the only people that showed up to compete. So Richard faced off against Stampone and won, and then proceeded to beat Gamer to become the Cruiser Champ. Apparantly, some people have a problem with that. They feel that the World Champ should not compete for any of the other titles. Like I said, Dogg and I never discussed this situation, and we dropped the ball. That's our bad. So after we talked it over, we decided to implement the following rule:

The World Champion will not be allowed to compete for any other AoV titles during his or her reign as World Champ except for the Tag Team Titles.

We felt that this was only fair, as the Tag Title is a team competition, and there's no real reason to ban the champ from that. In addition, we have decided to set up a hierarchy of titles.

World < Intercontinental < Cruiserweight < Hardcore

If you hold a higher-ranking belt, you cannot compete for a lower-ranking belt as long as you are the champ. You can, however, always compete for a higher level belt if you are a lower level title holder. But, if you win a higher level title, the belt you were holding is immediately vacated.

Now, how will this affect the current Cruiser situation? It won't. Dogg and I discussed it and decided that it wouldn't be fair to Richard, Stampone, or Gamer to do anything other than to let the results stand. So, for now, Richard is both the World and Cruiser Champ until someone beats him for the belt. In the future, however, this situation will be avoided.

Once again, I apologize for our oversight, and I take full responsibility for the situation.

9/13/02 - Just a friendly little reminder that our first PPV, Sunday Bloody Sunday, is this Sunday, 9/15, at 1300 ST. There, we will determine our first ever AoV World Champion! There will also be door prizes and other good stuff going on, so make sure to be there!

8/28/02 - OK, we had a bit of controversy at tonight's IC tourney. We really don't want to play these tourney matches ranked, so from now on, when your match is over, get a screen shot. If you don't know how, all you have to do is hit the PrintScreen button on your keyboard. Then, go to your Paint program in your Accessories folder and paste the screen shot there and save it. This way, if there is any question about who won the match, we can look at the screen shots and see who won. Otherwise, we're going to have to go to ranked matches. Also, the tourney rooms will be private from now on. The password will be "waov".
